Davao is no doubt the fastest growing city in the south. Davao is an exciting contrasts, with its laid-back charm and bustling metropolis feel, touted by many. it is known as the "Fruit Basket of the Philippines."

Tourism is a major driver as it is a catalyst to growth. within the next two years, it is expected that at least 500 rooms from three hotels ( that will be ) put up by Ayala Land Hotels and Conventions, SM Hotels and conventions Corporations and Tune Hotels.
Excisting hotels and resorts, as well as attractions in the city are in various stages of updating and upgrading to meet expected demands.
DOT has primarily positioned Davao as a MICE ( Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions ) destination with their Let's Meet in Davao Campaign.
For domestic and international leisure travelers, Davao is a perfect eco-tourism destination with its natural treasures that complement outdoor fun, adventure, and extreme sports.
The plan is to grow further Davao's key markets coming from the US, Japan, South Korea, and China.
Transportartion is also critical in plans for the influx of tourists. In a recnt Japan roadshow, we ascertained the push for Davao by Philippine Airlines via its Nagoya-Manila-Davao flights, starting April of next year.
The recent addition of Tiger Airways connecting Davao to Singapore provides a better opportunity to attract leisure and other markets in Singapore.
